PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND TELEPHONE REQUESTS OR FAX REQUESTS FOR THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Replace Roof, Lake Crescent Lodge, Olympic National Park, Port Angeles, Washington. Solicitation Number N9500070025. The National Park Service requires a firm, fixed-price construction contract to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to perform all operations required for the successful completion of the above named project. Work includes, but is not limited to replacement of the roof of the historic Lake Crescent Lodge, located 22 miles west of Port Angeles, Washington on U.S. Highway 101. Work shall consist of removal and replacement of the existing cedar shingle and asphalt roll roofing material. Replacement materials will be cedar shingle where currently installed and torch down roofing in sections currently roll roofing. Shingles shall be treated with "FTX" Class "B" fire retardant. The new roof will meet a Class "A" fire rating. To achieve the Class "A" rating, a mineral layer cap sheet will be added over the plywood sheathing and under the shingles. Spark arrestors will be installed on the two chimneys. Gutters and downspouts are not included in this contract. The NAICS code for this project is 238160 and the small business size standard is $13 million. Contract duration is 30 days following notice to proceed. Performance period is estimated to begin on or about April 1, 2007 to permit completion of work prior to lodge opening in mid-May. In accordance with FAR Subpart 36.204, the price range for this contract is between $100,000 and $250,000. This procurement is a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is subject to the provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, (FAR) Part 15. Contract award will be made to the offeror proposing the best value to the Government. This procurement is unrestricted. The National Park Service encourages the participation of disadvantaged and women-owned business enterprises. A site visit will be scheduled for all interested parties with the time and date to be announced in the solicitation, Section L, clause 52.236-27 Alt 1, Site Visit (Construction).
