- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 and FAR Part 13.5 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a Request for Proposal is hereby issued and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Solicitation Reference Number is N444666192XX01A and closes on December 20, 2006. The RFP and incorporated clauses and provisions are those in full affect through FAC 2005-12 and class deviation DFAR Change Notice 2005-0621. The Fleet Industrial Supply Center- Jacksonville, FL is announcing the requirement for the following per the attached schedule. All required tests are to be performed at the contractor facility or independent Laboratory. NET AMT Bulk Abrasive Blast Media Product Description Bulk Abrasive Blast Media, Coal Slag, Medium grit in accordance with MIL-A-22262B(SH) Dated 5 April 1993 and the Qualified Products List QPL-22262-24 dated 2 January 2002. a. Specification: Title: Abrasive Blasting Media Ship Hull Blast Cleaning Number: MIL-A-22262B(SH) Date: 5 April 1993 b. Issue of DODISS to be cited: N/A c. Particle Size: Medium Grit (Sieve size 12/40) ? Coal Slag, Abrasive for General purpose repair or maintenance Blasting; used for removal of paint and rust, structural steel, MIL Scale, General Purpose, Aggregate exposure. d. Total Size of Shipment: The estimated annual requirement is twenty-five hundred (2,500) tons shipped in twenty-five (25) ton increments. e. Shipment: In Bulk, Dry Material, and Net Weight f. Type of Shipment: Bulk in Pneumatic Tanker Truck capable of blowing/transferring material to the hopper. g. Level of Packaging: Covered to prevent loss in transit by wind blow and to protect the abrasive material from rain, water spray and moisture. h. Quantity Per Sack: N/A i. Special Marking: IAW ASTM-D-3951 All Blast Media supplied under this contract must meet MIL-Spec (MIL-A-22262B (SH) and be listed on the Qualified Products List. Contractor must provide proof of certification to MIL-A-22262 with each batch and load delivered to Trident Refit Facility (TRF). Paragraph 4.4 and Appendix (Section 30) of MIL-Spec identify required tests. IMPORTANT: ABRASIVE BLAST MEDIA MUST BE WASHED IN FRESH WATER (NOT SALT WATER). j. Delivery: Contract performance requires product delivery be made within forty-eight (48) hours of receipt of order. k. Product Certification: The Government requires certification that the Coal Slag product being supplied complies with requirements of MIL-A-22262B (SH) Abrasive Specification. This certification shall be supplied with each delivery and provided by the manufacturer or an approved laboratory. Deliveries without the required certification may be rejected. IMPORTANT NOTICE: DFARS 252-204-7004 Alt A Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is required and applies to all solicitations issued on/after 6-1-98.
