Description
This announcement is a Market Survey. This announcement is NOT A SCREENING INFORMATION REQUEST (SIR) or REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). Further, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The Federal Aviation Administration has a requirement for approximately 200 Sony Model DDMA-FH1C 110V power supplies. These power supplies are manufactured by the Sony Corporation for use in the Sony DDM-2800-C Main Display Monitor (MDM). The Sony DDM-2800-C MDM is the radar display used for the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), as well as the Arts Color Display (ACD) System. The Sony Model DDMA-FH1C 110V power supply is no longer manufactured, and is unprocurable. Should the FAA be unable to obtain the 110V power supplies, a costly and lengthy acquisition of a new radar display will be required, or, facilities that are currently wired for 110V power will need to be rewired to accept 220V power. The FAA does have an ample supply of Sony Model DDMA-FH2C, 220V power supplies. These Sony Model DDMA-FH2C 220V power supplies can be modified to become the Sony Model DDMA-FH1C 110V power supplies. This modification is only known to be available from the Sony Corporation because they hold the proprietary data rights, modification specifications, and testing capabilities for these items. The Government does not have the technical documentation available to allow other sources to repair these items. An internal determination was made that the modification of the 220V power supply to 110V is the most cost effective and timely approach to meeting this requirement. Should you believe you can perform the work described above, and wish to receive consideration as a potential modification source, you must provide in writing a complete set of system specification drawings, all required standards and testing specifications, test plans, part lists, and proof of rights to use the data. Statements that data will be obtained or that specifications or drawings will be developed are not acceptable. All interested parties are advised the FAA will not pay for any information or any administrative costs incurred associated with any response to this Market Survey announcement. Therefore, any costs associated with this Market Survey submission will be solely at the interested party's expense. Parties that can meet this requirement should reply via email, by close of business December 22, 2005, to the Contracting Officer, Pamela Davis at pamela.davis@faa.gov.
