Description

The work to be performed includes the following items: 1) transporting bearing from the Mt. Elbert Powerplant to the Contractor's shop and then returning it to the Powerplant, 2) documenting the bearings' as-delivered condition and preparing a recommended repair report, 3) removing the existing coatings and white metal alloy lining, 4) machining the bearings' split joint faces as necessary, 5) cleaning, etching, fluxing and tinning the bearing shell, 6) centrifugal casting of the new bearing lining, 7) ultrasonic testing of the lining/shell bond, 8) machining the lining, and 9) painting the repaired bearing. The Contractor's shop is required to have ISO 9002 certification. Mt. Elbert Powerplant is located approximately 13 miles southwest of Leadville, Colorado in Lake County. This RFQ will be issued on or around December 26, 2006; the quotations are tentatively due on January 16, 2007. There is no charge for the first copy; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 per set. All reasonable sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 331525. The small business size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is set aside for small business. This specifications and drawings will be not posted to the internet; however a complete solicitation package is available in hard copy. To request a hard copy of the solicitation, contractors must fax a request to (406) 247-7798, Attn: Hart BlackEagle. The request must include contractor's name, address, phone/fax numbers, tax identification number and their Dun and Bradstreet number. Note 1: Effective October 1, 2003, any contractor interested in doing business with the Federal Government must be actively registered in the Central Contractor Registration. Contractors may register at http://www/ccr/gov Note 2: Effective January 1, 2005, any contractor submitting a quotation, offer or proposal to the Government must complete their Representations and Certifications online.
