- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Center System plans to issue a Request for Proposal to obtain a cost-effective, durable and efficient means to help meet the considerable imaging requirements of the VA. The Contractor shall provide professional radiology services for on-demand coverage and interpretation of radiology examinations performed at VA Palo Alto. Interpretation and reporting services will be done via a secure web-based system provided by the Contractor. The Contractor shall provide teleradiologists, technical support personnel, telecommunication equipment, supplies, and supervision necessary to perform, implement and administer radiology services. Imaging studies to be interpreted will include those listed in the American Medical Association's Current Procedural Terminology code book (i.e., CPT codes) covering plain film examinations, CT scans, ultrasound imaging, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The VA will identify an on-duty Teleradiology Coordinator to interface with the teleradiologist on duty. For easy access, all examinations will be placed by the VA technologist staff into a teleradiology folder on the VA Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). It is expected that the Contractor will have the means to monitor the contents of these folders and will be aware of their contents, or will work with the VA Palo Alto Radiology to define a similarly straightforward, workable system for notifying the Contractor's teleradiologists of examinations that require interpretation. The examinations will be interpreted and their results communicated to the referring physician by the teleradiologist, utilizing telephone or fax. Final reports will be transcribed into the Veterans Health Information Systems Technology Architecture (VistA), corrected and signed. NAICS code 621512 applies with a size standard of $11.5M. The contract will be an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract and is expected to include a one-year basic period, with two one-year options. The solicitation number for this RFP is VA-261-07-RP-0019. Solicitations will be issued o/a January 10, 2007, with an anticipated proposal due date of February 9, 2007. All questions must be in writing and may be emailed to joel.burgess@va.gov. The Offeror is responsible for downloading all documents including amendments at the website listed above, without further notification from the VA Contracting Officer. Contractors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) at https://orca.bpn.gov/login.aspx NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (13-DEC-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
