Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for CJD/Titanium/Organ Tissue Hazardous Waste Disposal Services for the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, 500 Foothill Blvd. Salt Lake City, Utah 84148.  Contractor will provide: (1) transportation and supplies to dispose of Creutzfeldt-Jakob (Mad Cow) Disease-contaminated organs. CJD is biohazardous waste which may include biopsy samples of tissues/organs, instruments, draping, and/or supplies used to conduct biopsy. (2) Provide transportation and supplies to dispose of titanium joints. Joints may have pieces of bone and or limbs that also need to be disposed of and are considered biohazardous. (3) Provide transportation and supplies to dispose of organs from the Morgue. Waste must be transported and disposed of in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. If additional packaging is required to comply with federal, state, or local regulatory or disposal requirements, contractor will be expected to provide packaging and containers. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS code for this requirement is 562111. Request for Proposal will be issued on 12/18/2006 with a due date of 1/17/2007 at 1:00 P.M local time.     Potential Offerors shall submit proposals to the address located in block 9 of SF 1449 of the solicitation.
