Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for calibration and repair services under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Canberra Industries, Inc., 800 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450. The FBI requires a calibration and repair (if necessary) of its 65 Canberra MCB2 Alpha/Beta/Gamma contamination monitors, 8 Canberra ADM-300 Kit C radiation survey meters and 12 Radigem 4000 radiation survey meters and probes. Canberra Industries is the only authorized vendor capable of providing calibration and repair of the MCB2, Radiagem-4000 and the ADM 300. In order to not void the existing warranty all calibration and repair work must be done by Canberra Industries. Services are being procured under FAR 13.5, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Based on extensive market research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry, only one Canberra Industries can provide the requested services. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 9:00 AM, EST, Friday, December 29, 2006, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Lynda M. Theisen, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-6427 or by e-mail at Lmtheisen@fbiacademy.edu. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13. All contractors anticipating award, shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
