Description
This purpose of this amendment to the ADS-B SIR posed 11/30/2006 is to clarify the 3000 ft MSL coverage floor of service volume 12 in the sample problem description. Much of the terrain in this volume rises above 3000 ft AGL. Accordingly, the coverage floor for service volume 12 should consider the need to be 1500 feet AGL or 3000 feet MSL whichever is higher. There are no other changes to this SIR. The original SIR posting language follows: The Federal Aviation Administration's surveillance and Broadcast Services Program Office within FAA's En Route and Oceanic Services Unit (ATO-E) announces a requirement for Surveillance and Broadcast Services (consisting of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), Traffic Information Service-Broadcast (TIS-B), and Flight Information Service-Broadcast (FIS-B). The purpose of the attached Screening Information Request (SIR)is to identify vendors which are most likely to receive an ADS-B contract award. The SIR is indentifed as Attachment 1. A sample coverage area is identified as Attachment 2.
