NSN 2915-01-462-6011PR, P/N: 1459M17G06. Description: The augmenter fuel control is a fuel-operated electro-hydromechanical component and is mounted on the engine fan duct. The fuel control is designed to control fuel flow to the engine afterburner during periods of augmented engine operation. Filtered fuel is supplied from the augmenter fuel pump to the augmenter fuel control inlet. After entering the fuel control, the fuel flows to the metering valve. The metering valve divides the flow into three metered flow paths on a sequential basis. The flow paths are to fan, core, and local manifolds. Fuel flows from the manifolds through spraybars and into the augmenter duct. The Augmenter Fuel Control is about 2' X 1.5' X .75'. Housings are Aluminum and internal parts are steel. FOB: Origin. Inspection/Acceptance: Source. Destn: FMS requirement. Delivery: Qty 5, on or before 31 Oct 2007. Special Packaging Instructions apply. The approximate solicitation issue date will be 3 Jan 2007. The anticipated award date will be 2 Feb 2007. Only qualified sources may apply. The following source has been qualified for this acquisition: Sole Source, General Electric Co. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
