Description
The U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Job Corps intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Polycom Inc., to conduct technical support for Polycom software. A Polycom technical support agreement will allow Job Corps technical staff to contact Polycom, Inc., directly for technical support and problem resolution. Polycom, Inc., is the one responsible source that can satisfy the Agency's requirement because (1) Polycom's products are proprietary software; (2) Polycom is the manufacturer and holds the rights and the patents and; (3) Polycom provides the technical expertise required to support this software including all of the software updates. Pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) at 6.302-1, Polycom is the only source capable of performing this requirement due to the fact that they are the sole manufacturer and provider of Polycom products and support services. This notice of intent is not an announcement of the availability of a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is an RFP available. Any interested party who believes they can provide the required service may respond by submitting a capability statement via email to Darlene Johnson at Johnson.Darlene@dol.gov. The capability statement must include price information and describe in detail the parties? ability, qualifications, and experience in providing the required service as described above. All submissions must be received within fifteen calendar days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination not to compete the proposed work based upon responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. (See Numbered Note 22)
