- Description
- The Department of State intends to negotiate a sole source contract with American Systems Corporation located at 13990 Parkeast Circle, Chantilly, VA 20151-2272 for installation services of classified and unclassified cable and conduit. The base period of the contract will be six months with two six-month option period. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. This action is being taken to provide for continuity of services upon the expiration of contract S-AQMPD-06-D-1056 and will allow for the negotiation and award of the follow-on contract. Use of another contractor during this period would result in the disruption of services and would necessitate costly start-up and transition costs to be repeated on award of the follow-on contract. The contractor must provide BICSI Certified Technicians and a BICSI Registered Communications Designer (RCDD) on staff to support all project requirements. Foreign travel may be required and employees expected to travel will require a Top Secret security clearance prior to departure. In addition, the contractor shall possess a Top Secret facility clearance and all personnel performing under the contract shall have a Top Secret-SCI or Secret clearance as designated by the Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR). This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to the requirement in writing via e-mail to the Contracting Officer by January 17, 2007. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED AND VOICE MAIL MESSAGES WILL NEITHER BE ACKNOWLEDGED NOR RETURNED.
