- The 37th Contracting Squadron, Lackland Air Force Base intends to award a purchase order to School of Human Flight, for the acquisition of sky diving services and maintenance of Air Lifts, Fuel Surcharge, Rigging Main Packs MC-4, Rigging Main Packs-Star Trac, Rigging Reserve Parachute Service MC-4 Series, Rigging Reserve Parachute Service Star Trac Series, Rigging CYPRES Power Unit Install, CYPRES Factory Service, Misc Parachute Rigging Services, Minor Repairs for a basic and one option year. The proposed requirement is for leasing and maintenance (air lifts) which the Government intends to award to one source under authority of FAR 13. The Air Force SCUBA School is composed of Combat Control and Pararescue Insturctors who are required to meet mandated parachute requirements. The School of Human Flight in Quincy FL is the nearest vendor that can provide this service. There is no other contractor within 250 miles that is able to provide the required support. The School of Human Flight is located approximately 100 miles from Panama City FL, besides being the closest to Panama City they are also the only skydive center regionally, which is approved by DoD Instrastate Paratroop approved facility. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the government will consider all proposals received within ten business days after date of publication of this notice.
