Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate Hubzone or 8A contractors for this proposed contract for Hubzone or 8A Competitive Set-Aside Award. The proposed contract will be for construction of Regional Training Site-Medica l (RTS-Med) training building and biomedical equipment maintenance facility. Buildings will be of permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor slabs, structural steel frames, masonry veneer walls, standing seam metal roof, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, security systems and electrical systems. Supporting facilities include land clearing, paving, fencing, general site improvements and extension of utilities to serve project. Force protection (physical security) measures will be incorporated into design including maximum standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas. Berms, heavy landscaping, and bollards will be used to prevent access when standoff distances cannot be maintained. This project is planned for advertisement in August 2007 with approximate award schedule of in February 2008. Contract duration is estimated at 540 days. NAICS is 236220. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. 20% of the wor k is to be self-performed. All interested Hubzone or 8A small businesses should notify this office in writing by mail or fax by Jan 16, 2007, 3:00 pm, local time. Responses should include: (1) Identification and verification of company as a hubzone or 8A small business, (2) Past Experience- Describe completed projects that are similar in size, scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-performed work and how that was accomplished, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for a project in the dollar amount listed above, and (4) a statement verifying the contractor will perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qualified Hubzone or 8A small business firms do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to full and open competition.
