- Telephone System Maintenance: The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a competitive requirement for the continued maintenance of the Government owned Northern Telecom Inc. (NTI) Meridian MSL-100 digital switching system with Supernode. The equipment is physically located at the Social Security Administration (SSA) Headquarters (HQ) at 6401 Security Blvd. in Woodlawn Maryland. This system provides telephone service to twenty-three buildings. Maintenance support must include software and hardware for the 30,000 line system which includes, at the present time, 24,000 active lines. The contract will provide for training, telephone relocations, cabling and acquisition of telephone equipment and accessories. Interested parties must have total access to parts and spares, be able to provide onsite technicians who are fully knowledgeable of each system component, and provide a 24-hour emergency response. To be eligible for award, offerors must have previous experience on Meridian MSL-100 systems of similar size and configuration as SSA?s HQ system. The RFP was released on December 20, 2006 and will close on January 25, 2007. The resultant contract will contain a basic one-year period with four one year option periods. The Government will consider all proposals from responsible sources.
