Description
An Industry Day will be held January 25, 2007, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Central Time at Evans Auditorium, Building B902, Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234. Visitors should enter Fort Sam Houston via the Binz Engleman gate. Current valid vehicle insurance and a current valid drivers license or other government-issued picture identification card for each person in the vehicle must be presented at the gate. Once on Fort Sam Houston follow the road (bear to the left at the curve) to the stop light by the fire station. Turn right. Evans Auditorium will be on the left in approximately two blocks. The U.S. Army Medical Command, Center for Health Care Contracting is conducting market research prior to soliciting proposals for contract health care providers (HCPs) in a variety of medical specialties for performance at military medical treatment facili ties throughout the continental United States, including Alaska and Hawaii, and overseas. Prior to release of any solicitation for proposals, notice will be synopsized at FedBizOpps (www.fedbizopps.gov). Sources sought synopses for these requirements were posted on FedBizOpps on November 2 and 6, 2006. Only requirements for Physicians, Nurses and Ancillary HCPs will be addressed at the Industry Day. Radiology and Teleradiology requirements are not part o f this acquisition. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes are 621111 for physicians and 621999 for nurses and other ancillary HCPs. Size standard for both NAICS codes is $9 Million. Prospective offerors are not required to attend Industry Day. A summary of questions, answers and discussions will be posted on FedBizOpps not later than January 31, 2007. If your firm plans to attend, please provide your company name and address along with the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of those planning to attend. The government is soliciting answers to the questions below. In addition, prospective offeror are afforded an opportunity to submit questions which will be answered at the Industry Day. Submit your responses by COB January 16, 2007 to Michelle.Bartkowski@us.army.mil and Danny.Tafolla@us.army.mil. During the week of December 26 - 29, 2006, please contact Gary.Hankins@us.army.mil. QUESTIONS: 1. Can you provide HCPs nationally to include Hawaii and Alaska? If not, which states? 2. How much notice do you require to fill a position? Are there different timeframes for filling different specialties? Which state(s) or geographic areas are considered hard-to-fill? 3. How long does it take to recruit nurses (RNs, LPNs, NPs)? How long does it take to recruit a physician (all specialties)? Do you have to provide recruitment and/or retention incentives for some specialties or locations? If so, which ones? Are some specialties more difficult to recruit than others? If so, which ones? 4. How long does it take to perform primary source verification of education, licensure, certificates, credentials, etc. and prepare package for submission to Military Treatment Facilitys credentials committee? 5. What is the industry practice regarding immunizations, TB and HIV status? Does the requesting agency provide or does the contractor? Are flu shots normally provided by the requesting facility? 6. For what specialties does the contractor normally provide competency testing, drug testing, etc. 7. Do you have any experience with placing HCPs overseas (specifically Europe and Japan/Korea)? If so, what are the hardest obstacles to overcome? 8. What contractor incentives are normally included in commercial contracts for HCPs?
