- FISC-San Diego, Regional Contracting Department is announcing intention to issue a sole source requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a). The RFQ will be issued in accordance with FAR 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. The sole source contractor is Starler Incorporated, cage: 00SX9. Equipment, material, parts and installation/testing services and abatement services are required as necessary to provide a Lead Pot Furnace Upgrade to existing Government owned foundry equipment. The single project is comprised of the following: Lead Pot Control Cabinet upgrade to include assembly of new control cabinet etc., Lead Pot Burner and Burner Components to include new burners, fire safety components, combustion blower etc., Lead Pot Removal of Existing Pot Refractory to include disposal of the refractory, which is contaminated with lead and possibly with asbestos, abatement and disposal etc., Lead Pot Brickwork to include new insulating firebrick and mineral wool block in the lead pot etc., Kirksite Pot to include controller upgrade, install firebrick around new burner locations etc. This announcement does not constitute all details regarding this effort. The RFQ will contain specific parts and the SOW. Qualified Contractors that have specific technical expertise in such systems may download a copy of the RFQ. All contractors that respond to the RFQ will be required to provide a technical proposal describing in sufficient detail on how they intend to perform the required services, a listing of all equipment to be offered, all applicable licenses, current pricing for each phase of the project to include hourly labor rates and Past Performance Data, which will be evaluated to ascertain the Contractor(s) capabilities.. Naics: 811310, business size $6.5 million is applicable. All services/material will be inspected and accepted at destination. Performance/Delivery location: Fleet Readiness Center-SW, San Diego, CA 92135. This procurement is issued as restricted as a total SBSA. The RFQ will be available for review and downloading at the following websites: www.neco.navy.mil and www.fedbizopps.gov on or about January 2, 2007. The solicitation period will close on 1600 PM, PST, January 17, 2007. Responses to the RFQ are preferred to be submitted electronically via email (provided all information is contained) and or fax.
