Description

The Defense Media Center Contracting office intends to award a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 USC 2304(c)(1), to Infotec Computers, 123 Milk Street, Westborough MA 01581. The contractor will upgrade seventy-nine (79) existing Canopus editing systems belonging to the Naval Media Center with AVID Express Pro. The purpose of the system is for playback and encoding of multimedia content for archive and digital transfer systems. The Canopus is a government owned system. To try to acquire another product and/or another vendor would be cost prohibitive. This would require the purchase of new systems for all ships, all Navy Broadcasting Affiliates, both Journals and Technician training school centers and write new curriculum for both courses. Infotec Computers is the only company that is both a Canopus and AVID certified vendor, with the capability to repair and upgrade both products. The vendor is also a certified system integrator for both Canopus and AVID. Total estimated value is $510,000.00. NAICS Code is: 541512 with a size standard of $23M.
