- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm fixed Price Purchase Order to TA Instruments of New Caslte DE and Milford MA for a TA AR2000 Ultra-high resol ution torque rheometer with dual heating capability. The system must have the ability to quickly temperature ramp (via peltier technology) for the characterization of food matrices and food bioploymers for PEFST. The system must also have the ability to te mperature ramp to very high temperatures (300 degrees C and higher) for the characterization of novel polymers and nanomaterials for the APPT and NST. The system must be capable of a very wide torque range (0.0001-200mN m) with ultra-high torque resolution (0.04microrad-mainly for polymer research). In order to minimize friction due to bearings, the sytems must have air bearings. This is essential in reducing/minimizing residual torque 'noise'. The system must be modular to accept add-ons downstream for ele ctro-rheology. The TA system AR2000 is an extremely versatile system that is able to meet the requirments for food matrix research via fast sample change-out, as well as high temperature research required for polymer/nanomaterial research. The TA SmartSwa p technology allows for extensive modularity for expanding future capabilties. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Interested Parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army RDECOM Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, via e-mail at stephen.abate@us.army.mil. No later than 27 December 2006, 1:00 pm EST.
