- Description
- The descriptions below are not meant to be inclusive of all position responsibilities and duties. (1) Nurse Researcher: This position will provide program management support to the Joint Theater Trauma Registry. At the direction of the Program Manager, the individual selected will: (i) assist with the development and preparation of protocols, (ii) assi st with data management needs and data analysis, (iii) prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, etc. related to research activities, (iv) assist Principal Investigator with preparation of publications, and (v) collaborate with investigators in the conduct o f trauma studies involving data from the JTTR. (2) Research Investigator: This position will conduct activities along several different research areas. The individual selected will: (i) oversee, generate, and fully implement proposals and research protocols stemming from the USAISR Trauma Vitals Databa se and Joint Trauma Registry, human intensive care and burn units, as well as combat theatres, and (ii) oversee, generate, and fully implement proposals and research protocols in various animal models in the USAISR pulmonary and cardiovascular physiology l aboratory. (3) Epidemiologist: This position will provide epidemiology support to the Joint Trauma Theater Registry. The individual selected will: (i) evaluate study proposals for epidemiological design impact and advise investigators in a consultant role, (ii) colla borate with investigators in the conduct of epidemiologic studies involving data from the JTTR, (iii) act as liaison for other laboratories with the JTTR, (iv) serve as an independent investigator to develop and execute study design for analysis, and (v) p repare individual and collaborative submissions for presentation and/or publication. (4) Database Manager: This position will provide technical database management support. The individual selected will: (i) provide computer administrator support for clinical/research databases and associated database interfaces capabilities, (ii) provide t echnical database support for a multitude of database and operating environments, (iii) maintain database information security and integrity, (iv) provide departmental amd institutional support for database integration, and (v) provide database development and and complex database query and mining support. (5) Computer Programmer: This position will provide technical support. At the direction of the Program Manager, the individual selected will: (i) stand up and maintain an Oracle Relational Database to support the import/export of data and planned growth to include interfaces and interoperability with other systems, (ii) develop capabilities to retrieve and store data from various data sources, (iii) interact with other technical personnel and clinical managers to develop data stores of integrated data for u se in studies and research, and (iv) ensure successful implementation of new databases developed for research and operational use. (6) Statistician: This position will provide statistical support for the JTTR. At the direction of the Director, the individual selected will: (i) use multivariate statistical techniques, (ii) raise awareness of statistical knowledge among scientists and m anagement, (iii) work with statistical packages including but not limited to SAS, SPSS, etc. (iv) collaborate with investigators in the conduct of statistical studies involving data from the JTTR, (v) act as a liaison for other laboratories with the JTTR t hat have specific statistical focus, and (vi) serve as an independent investigator to develop internal and/or external research questions in order to develop and execute study design for analysis. (7) Administrative Assistant: This position will provide administrative support related to the events and activities of the Research and Analysis Cell. The individual selected will: (i) act as a liaison fro the Research and Analysis Cell and the Office of Defense Healthcare Syst em, (ii) produce and maintain records of coordination and decision meetings conducted in various formats, (iii) prepare appropriate correspondence according to governmental and inter-governmental standards as required (iv) coordinate recurring and ad hoc m eetings for the Research and Analysis Cell, and (v) schedule and execute special events to meet organizational and mission demands. (8) Data Retrieval Specialist: This position will provide information and data retrieval services. At the direction of the Program Manager, the individual selected will: (1) assist research investigators with the retrieval of stored data using standard inf ormation science methods, (ii) retrieve medical data from stored medical records, and (iii) assist researchers in identifying data elements to support the research project.
