- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Metropolitan Correctional Center, Chicago, hereinafter referred to as MCC, plans to award an indefinite-delivery requirements type firm-fixed contract to an individual or small business to provide Jewish Services to the inmate population at the MCC as set forth in this solicitation. The contractor shall conduct services on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 1pm - 3pm. The contractor shall provide services for four holy days: Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur. Each holy day service shall last two hours in duration. The dates and times for the special sessions will be mutual agreed by the Chaplain and Contractor. The individual providing services shall have a degree from an accredited seminary and have received Smicha. The contractor will coordinate with and advise the Chaplain and or the Volunteer Coordinator as to the on going activities of the Jewish community. In addition, two personal references and one letter of endorsement from their local religious organization must be submitted before commencing services. The contractor will perform all services in the Religious Services Department at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, 71 W. Van Buren, Chicago, Illinois. Services will normally be performed in the Chapel. The contract period will consist of a 12-month base period with four 12-month option periods for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about April 24, 2006 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration-Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a hard copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the website listed above. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government will be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about May 15, 2006. The North American Industry Classification System code for this solicitation is 813110. The solicitation will be set aside for 100% small business. Faith-Based and Community Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
