Description
The purpose of this modification is to provide total acreage of the facilities in need of landscape services, and extend the date through 12/28/06. This facility has less than one acre including lawn and shrub area. The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Weather Service (NWS), is in need of contractors that can provide turf, tree, shrub, and ground cover maintenance, once every two weeks at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Weather Service Forecast Office (WSFO) located at 11691 SW 17 Street, Miami, FL 33165. DESCRIPTION: The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, supplies, equipment and supervision to perform described herein. Service shall be performed once every two weeks during the growing season or once a week if deemed necessary on a schedule to be determined by the Administrative Officer (AO) and/or Facility Engineering Technician (FET). During periods of droughts or during the winter months the period between cuttings may be longer than two weeks. All services will be performed at the NWS, NHC/WSFO facility beginning January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007 with 4 possible option periods of 12 months each. The contractor will be responsible for providing Landscape maintenance services including but not limited to: 1. Contractor will cut, trim and edge lawn. A well defined line must be established and maintained between the lawn and sidewalks, curbs, and plant beds. 2. Contractor will maintain lawn and plant beds free of weeds. 3. Leaves, dead foliage and dead plants shall be removed every time lawn service is performed. 4. Contractor shall maintain lawn, trees, plants, and ground cover free of insects and disease. The contractor shall remove from the premises all trash, debris, litter, trimmings, etc. which accumulate in the performance of the work. Containers for handling this material shall be furnished by the contractor. The contractor shall provide adequate proof that the company is licensed to perform this type of work. Any business classified as a small business capable of completing this project is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice. The NAICS code for this action is 561730 . This service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition Procedures. The Central Region Acquisitions Division requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
