Description

This position is located in Gaborone, Botswana. Regular day to day management will be from the Regional Mission Director or Deputy Director. USAID will backstop the incumbent and provide him/her technical and administrative support. In doing so, USAID will also coordinate with appropriate offices in USAID/Washington to ensure seamless support to the incumbent in Botswana. The incumbent will be a member of the U.S. HIV/AIDS Botswana country team engaged in implementing portions of the approved existing work plan or approved new portions of it attributed to USAID. He/she will coordinate activities closely with the Center for Disease Control director and senior staff to reinforce and/or complement the existing program in advancing the U.S. HIV/AIDS program in Botswana. This position provides project management to the ensemble of activities with a primary emphasis on USAID funded project partnerships. In addition, the incumbent will play a lead role in one or more key technical areas such as logistics management or behavior change communication (BCC) and support the existing USAID Coordinator to complement the skills of the rest of the U.S. team. He/she will coordinate with USAID central and regional offices and liaise with in-country implementing partners, provide technical leadership to projects with particular attention to community-based programming, reinforce project planning, monitoring and reporting guidance. In addition, the incumbent along with other members of the U.S. Emergency Plan team will liaise with the Office of the U.S Global AIDS Coordinator Core Team for Botswana.
