Description
Subject to final approval, The Department of the Treasury?s Bureau of the Public Debt (BPD) on behalf of the Administrative Resource Center?s (ARC) Business Technology Division, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with WebEx Communications, Inc., for the acquisition of on-line conferencing services. At this time, the Government intends to award for the period of 12 months. Nature & Description of Action The Business Technology Division implemented a program, approximately six years ago, for training and providing demos for new/potential customers, remotely but in real-time. WebEx was selected because it does not require a particular type of software or internet browser. The specific needs of ARC preclude using any other commercial sources for the WebEx services, as ARC?s needs for the customized package of Meeting Center and Support Center, along with the size of the package, are only available from WebEx. As to avoid the cost and time that would be incurred changing to an entirely different application, it is in the best interest of the Government to continue using WebEx for these services. These services need to go into effect January 6, 2007. Based on this information, a sole source to WebEx Communications, Inc. is intended for this contract. No solicitation document is available. The Bureau of the Public Debt will consider all affirmative responses received no later than January 2, 2007. Affirmative responses shall be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show the ability to provide the requirement or functional equivalent, at terms more advantageous to the Government. A request for more information will not be considered an affirmative response. If no affirmative written response is received that clearly demonstrates the ability to meet the requirements and that is more advantageous to the Government, we intend to negotiate a sole-source award to WebEx Communications, Inc. (DBA: WebEx.com). Interested parties are requested to submit responses electronically to psb2@bpd.treas.gov. E-mail responses requiring more than 5 megabytes of memory must be sent as separate files. We are unable to receive the following computer file extensions: .bat, .cmd, .com, .cpl, .exe, .gz, .hta, .pif, .rar, .scr, .tgz, .vbs, .z, and .zip.
