Description
The Naval Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to solicit and purchase 4 Trailers, Tank, commonly known as fuel bowsers. We are seeking a supplier of 2 each 200 gallon bowers, and 1 each 400 gallon and 1 each 600 gallon bowers. This is a fuel-safe container used to drain aircraft fuel into prior to purging fuel cells/tanks of fuel vapors. It must contain a fully baffled pressure tested tank made from 4MM steel. The Fuel Bowser will consist of a tank assembly mounted on a four wheeled trailer chassis with the tow bar steerable front wheels and drum brake equipped rear wheels. The tank assembly also includes a telescoping funnel assembly, a vacuum pump assembly, and a manway for the cleaning process. Two static discharge ground reels are attached to the trailer and two grounding receptacles are provided, one on each side of the trailer. The fuel bowser also is equipped with a remote funnel assembly, a vacuum pick-up hose assembly and a sampling device. The common elements of all three trailers includes operating temperature range of -40F to +125F, Vacuum Pump Capacity of 16 inches Hg (suction inlet blocked), Vaccum flow 120 SCFM (w/no restiction), and a vaccum chamber of 25 gallons. The unit must have a telescoping funnel with a maximum height of 16 feet, and a Vacuum Hose Assembly of 50 feet, and an ID of 1.25 inches. Maximum towing speed of the trailer is 30 MPH (in the forward direction only). The Remote Funnel Assembly height lowered is 20 inches and raised is 48 inches. The expected dimensions of the trailers are as follows: FOR THE 200 GALLON TRAILER: Length is 160 inches towbar down, 140 inches tow bar raised, 70 inches wide, 49 inches high and will weigh around 500 pounds. FOR THE 400 GALLON TRAILER: Length is 170 inches towbar down, 148 inches tow bar raised, 78 inches wide, 49 inches high and will weigh around 990 pounds. FOR THE 600 GALLON TRAILER: Length is 187 inches towbar down, 140 inches tow bar raised, 73 inches wide, 55 inches high and will weigh around 1500 pounds. Products with similar diminsions are able to submit, however the final decision as to meeting the project requirements is solely with the US Navy Project Engineers. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Small Businesses are encouraged to respond.
