- Notice of Intent to Procure the Westcot 400 or equal product - The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) on behalf of, and as an agent of the DHHS, CDC, and DSNS has a requirement to purchase the Westcot 400 or equal product, Special Needs and Surge Capacity Aluminum Frame Folding Temporary Transfer Bed. These beds are required for the Federal Medical Station Program to address the nations' potential special needs shelter and hospital shortfall in an all-hazard mass casualty care or quarantine event and create a federal level emergency care capability. The NAICS code for this procurement is 423450. The salient characteristics of the bed are as follows: Open Dimensions: 18"H x 32"W x81"L Folded Dimensions: 8"H x32"W x 43"L Weight Capacity: 400 lbs Weight: 32 lbs Integrated IV Pole Multi-position head elevator with locking cord Minimum 2 position Trendelenburg Foot elevator Patient chart holder 2" and 4" convoluted foam mattress with anti-microbial, hypoallergenic; and flame retardant cover Side/Safety rails will be included as an optional product. Duration of contract shall be from date of award through 30 September 2007 and 4 one-year option periods. Estimated quantities for 2007 are 1200 beds and 600 sets of side/safety rails. All responsible businesses that are capable of providing the Government with the aforementioned product may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) via e-mail to judy.gachette@va.gov or by FAX to 708 786-7617. It is anticipated that RFQ 797-DSNS-0703 will be available fifteen (15) days after publication of this notice. Receipt of quotations will be fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is January 31, 2007. Electronic and/or Faxed RFQ's will not be considered non-responsive. This acquisition is set-aside for 100% small-businesses.
