Description
(8698) This firm-fixed-price project involves work on three bridges, as follows: (i) Control Creek Bridge: Remove existing bridge and approach rail system, replace bridge rails with timber curbs, plug remaining bridge rail bolt holes in bridge deck, and replace four object markers and posts at bridge ends. (ii) North Fork Staney Creek Bridge: Replace timber curb system with steel bridge rails, supply and install approach rails (embankment material will be required when installing the approach rails—note that the bridge deck at North Fork Staney has swelled over 7” and all dimensions must be verified before the bridge rail system is fabricated), plug remaining bridge curb bolt holes in bridge deck, and replace four object markers and posts at bridge ends. (iii) Main Staney Creek Bridge: Supply and install drip pan system (the bridge was over-treated with creosote and at certain temperatures residual creosote drips from the bridge), replace various rail posts, post blocks, and rail splice bolts as noted in the drawings, and replace four object markers and posts at bridge ends. The project area and all bridges are located on the Prince of Wales Island road system on the Thorne Bay Ranger District of the Tongass National Forest. The estimated price range for this acquisition is between $100,000 and $250,000. The performance period is 360 calendar days. A written solicitation will be issued.
