- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repair to a 47 Foot Motor Life Boat (San Juan) Hull Number: 47256. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 12 January 2007. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Viki.J.Frey@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The NAICS is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited HubZone Set-Aside. The Coast Guard will dry-dock the boat at the Coast Guard facility and the contractor shall perform all work at the Coast Guard Facility, located at 5 Calle La Puntilla, San Juan, PR. The performance period will be twenty-nine (29) days with a start date on or about 9 April 2007. The scope of the acquisition is for dry docking including but not limited to the following Base items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rub Rail System, (3) Clean and Inspect Buoyancy Chamber, (4) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, (5) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (6) Remove and Reinstall Propellers, (7) Test, Overhaul and Renew Valves, (8) Overhaul Sea Strainers, (9) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, (10) Routine Dry-docking Tasks, (11) Renew Forward Tripod Gun Mount Flanges and Surrounding Deck Plate, (12) Fuel Return Line Modification (EC 47MLB- (A)-(035). Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
