- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston has a requirement for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and equipment for HYDRA wireless Interior Communications (IC) program in support of fleet users of the trunked LMR systems. These systems must: (1) comply with the requirement of the Hydra Operational Requirements Document (ORD) and the CVN-68 Class Integrated Voice Communications Network (IVCN) Block-2; (2) have digital, narrow band operation in the frequency ranges of 380 ??? 400 MHz; (3) be compatible with the wireless IC decks; amphibious assault ship well decks and vehicle decks; and the damage control, engineering, security, safety, navigation, and administrative operations of all US Navy ship classes; (4) be procured for military use only and not for commercial use as a result of the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Document #31379/1 dated 28 FEB 2000; and 380- 400MHZ will be for military use only. Narrow band operation is required. Base station equipment must be capable of meeting low power 20- 100mw, Grade A shock requirements of MIL-S-901D. Portable radio equipment must be capable of operation in driving rain, snow, extreme background noise, and extreme heat and cold. This is a follow-on requirement to contract N65236-01-D-5110 for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and equipment for HYDRA wireless Interior Communications (IC) program in support of fleet users of the trunked LMR systems. The incumbent contractor is M/A-COM Inc., Lynchburg, VA. Subject procurement is being solicited as Full and Open competition. A Commercial, Fixed Price, Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) type contract (with task orders), for a base period of one year with four one-year option periods is anticipated for award. The applicable NAICS code is 334220 with a size standard of 750 Employees. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on or about 5 Feb 2007 on the SPAWAR E-Commerce Website: https://e-commerce.spawar.navy.mil. Each offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation and any related amendments, and subsequently downloading their own copy of the solicitation and applicable documents.
