Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for a portable Multipurpose Solar Device (MSD) capable of using solar power to charge a communications battery, provide power to a 12 Volt tactical radio, or provide power to a 24 Volt tactical radio. A performance specification is available. With the exception of Critical Performance Parameters (CPPs) that must be met, all other stated objectives are Government desired levels of performance. In addition to the attributes listed, responses are encouraged to describe additional ?value added? features, if available. Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted are encouraged and invited to submit the following: Comments on the performance specification, and product literature with pricing materials. Responses should describe ability to meet the government?s specifications. Responses should also describe performance specifications that are not met by an available solution an d are encouraged to explain if the available level of performance may meet the government?s needs, or if an alternative capability may meet the government?s needs. Projected quantities are up to 2000 units. GSA Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) may be an appropriate method for these supplies and services (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.0 and 8.4). If not on the GSA Schedule, and you are associated with another manufacturer/distributor that is on the GSA Schedule, provide that information. In addition to the above, and whether on the GSA Schedule or not, please provide the name, postal address, phone number and email address of your Point Of Contact (POC), to include any associated GSA Schedule manufacturers/ distributors. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Government?s requirements. This sources-sought/Request For Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP), or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission, of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/ non-proprietary information. The Government intends to release a Commercial Item Procurement for the subject capability in FY08.
