Description

(1) The intent of this solicitation and any resultant contract is to obtain services for up to two (2) Type II or III helicopters fully operated by qualified personnel and equipped to meet specifications for use in administration and protection of Public Lands. The aircraft will be utilized as Rappel Platforms. The bases of operation will be located in Southern Oregon at the Siskiyou Rappel/Helibase located in Grants Pass, OR, and Central Washington located at the Wenatchee Valley Rappel/Helibase located in East Wenatchee, WA. The awarded contracts will be for one base year with two renewable options. During the Mandatory Availability Period (Siskiyou Rappel/Helibase - 115 days and Wenatchee Valley Rappel/Helibase - 105 days) and any extensions thereof, the aircraft will be made available for the exclusive use of the Government. It is anticipated that all Mandatory Availability Periods will begin June 4, 2007. (2) The helicopters furnished will be used for fire initial attack and support missions and for other administrative flights as assigned. It may also be used for law enforcement flights.
