Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Atlanta intends to award, on a sole source basis, a delivery order to Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc, 7102 Riverwood Dr, Columbian, MD 21046. The delivery order is for procuring a high performance Prominence Liquid Chromatography system. The Prominence LC system has the capability to deliver consistent flow rates at very small microliter volumes. This system can heat columns for temperature for better separations of analytes. The Shimadzu Inc is the only company that manufactures this type of equipment. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR part 13.106-1, The proposed contract action is made in the condition described in 6.302-2 for purchases conducted using simplified acquisition procedures. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required products/services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
