- The Federal Bureau of Prisons - Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to make a single award for the provision of Computer Application Instructor and Technical Repair for the inmate population at the Federal Correctional Complex Terre Haute, Indiana. The contractor will be required to develop lesson plans and provide training to inmate students. Training will include live work and instruction that will provide background and expertise to become proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, access and Outlook programs for Microsoft Office 2000. The contractor oversees the implementation of all new system hardware and software and develops operating procedures. Monitors the ongoing operation of the Education inmate computer network environment with a large number of users in an installation and ensures corrective action to restore operational service is accomplished. Contractor must be a graduate of a fully accredited High School and requires previous teaching instruction on Microsoft Office 2000. The contractor must possess certification related to the computer technology field. Knowledge and experience in administrating a network with M.S. active directories, Thin Client and Terminal Services. Possess certification related to the computer technology field and must possess previous experience configuring and maintaining servers and workstations for the maintenance and repair of computers, servers, and printers. The award will be made to the responsible contractor who submits the most advantageous quote to the Government. The estimated quantities for the base and each option year are estimated at 1560 sessions per year for the instruction and technical repair. One (1) session equals one (1) hour. The number of hours per week shall not exceed thirty (30) hours. The Contracting Officer anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery, requirements type contract. The contract period shall consist of a 12-month base year with four 12 month option years for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about January 22, 2007 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about February 13, 2007. The North American Industry Classification System code for this solicitation is 611519. All responsible small business concerns may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
