- 1. General. This is a Request for Information (RFI), a market survey to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, qualifications, and potential Commercial and Non-Development Item system solutions to be used in planning a future performance-based req uirement. a. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS. The Government DOES NOT intend to award a contract on the basis of the responses to this RFI. Please refer to paragraph 3. below for the tentative schedule for awarding a future contract. b. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. c. This RFI is for planning purposes only. JIEDDO will use vendor responses to gain knowledge regarding the capabilities and qualifications of interested companies and their solutions for satisfying this requirement. JIEDDO will apply the knowledge gaine d during the RFI process to prepare the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) for this requirement. d. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Information received in response to this RFI may be used to assess alternatives available in determining how to proceed in the acquisition. e. Any proprietary information that is submitted may be used in establishing requirements but specific information identified as proprietary will be safeguarded as such. 2. Background. The RDECOM Acquisition Center, Aberdeen Contracting Division and the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) are seeking qualified, experienced System Integrator (SI) sources to deliver a system of people, processes a nd technology which will orchestrate the execution of the JIEDDO Staff Action workflow in an agile, net-centric, service-oriented and collaborative manner. 3.
