Description

The Department of Justice, Facilities and Administrative Services Staff, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Mashack Iron Works of Washington, DC. Mashack will reproduce 12 historic mantel clocks based on a prototype model that was created by them. Mashack has the special tooling, machinery and expertise necessary to replicate a historic, antique mantel clock that is part of the modernization project at the Department of Justice building located at 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC. The Department may exercise an option to purchase additional clocks from this firm if necessary. Responses received as a result of this notice of intent shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as either proposals or bids. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written inquiries shall include a statement of qualification or past performance on replicating historic clocks. This information shall be provided via fax to the attention of John Schrecengost, DOJ/JMD/FASS/RPMS, on 202-307-1915. No telephonic responses will be accepted.
