Description
PURPOSE OF MODIFICATION: To include the quantity of hours to be procured under this contract modification. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to modify Contract N00024-06-C-6353 with BAE Systems, Information and Electronic Systems Integration (IESI) of 65 Spit Brook Road, P.O. Box 868, Nashua, NH 03061 to add hours (quantity 6,000) for engineering support services for the Quick Reaction Dismounted (QRD) JCREW Production contract. This effort will enhance the operating functionality of these Dismounted CREW systems, and is essential to ensuring that these systems protect U.S. personnel from the threat posed by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Engineering support services are required for analysis, design and tradeoff studies for modifications that will increase system effectiveness or ease the use; for threat loadset and software improvements to enable the system to address new and emerging threats; and for on-going effectiveness, interoperability, communication compatibility, changing threat level, and radiation hazard testing for the QRD systems. BAE Systems, In formation and Electronic Systems Integration is the current producer of the Dismounted CREW systems, and the only contractor that possesses the requisite knowledge and experience on this Dismounted JCREW system to meet the Government?s requirement. Thus, BAE is the only reasonable source available that can satisfy JCREW Program requirements in accordance with the requirements outlined in Contract N00024-06-C-6353. The period of performance is for approximately one (1) year for engineering support services, with work ending in February 2008. Contract modification will be awarded pursuant to 10 USC 2304 (c)(1). Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact BAE Systems, Information and Electronic Systems Integration (IESI) directly. See Numbered Note 22*****
