Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with ION-TOF USA Inc. of Chestnut Ridge, NY for the purchase of replacements parts for an exisiting Ion-Tof SIMS system. ***Sole Source determination is based on the following: The required replacement parts are 100 percent compatible with NIST?s existing IonTof-SIMS system. The parts being procured are identical replacement parts for the existing system. The parts and technology required are proprietary to ION-TOF USA, Inc. Furthermore, ION-TOF USA Inc, is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the required parts. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 60 days after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by January 27, 2007.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
