Description
The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for Hubzone Set-Aside or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000.00and $250,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC WIRE (WYTL-65612). The homeport is 152 Lighthouse Drive, Saugerties, NY. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date of May 7, 2007. The scope of the acquisition is: 1)Welding Repairs; 2) Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks (includes disposal); 3) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; 4) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft; 5) Straighten Shaft; 6) Renew Propeller Shaft Sleeves; 7) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller; 8) Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of Propellers; 9) Clean, Inspect, and Test Grid Coolers; 10) Clean Exhaust Pipes; 11) Preserve Transducer Hull Ring; 12) Overhaul and Renew Valves; 13) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assembly; 14) Inspect Various Deck Fittings; 15) Preserve Weather Decks; 16) Preserve Underwater Body; 17) Renew Cathodic Protection System; 18) Routine Drydocking; 19) Provide Temporary Logistics; 20) Renew Fire and Smoke Detection System; 21) Install Port Light; 22) Renew Weather-Tight Door. Provide protective deck covering material. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. A one-time geographic restriction to repair facilities to within 144NM on navigable waterways, and no more than 10NM off shore from USCGC WIRE (WYTL-65612), homeport located in Saugerties, NY. At the present time this acquisition is expected to be issued small business set-aside. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305 and FAR 19.1405, if your firm is and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a quotation for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project title, dollar amounts, points of contact and phone numbers; (c) Past Performance references with points of contacts and phone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by January 30, 2007. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a Hubzone Set-Aside, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or a Small Business Set-Aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as Hubzone Set-Aside, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the FEDBizOps website at http://www.eps.gov.
