- Description
- The government anticipates negotiating and awarding a contract under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one acceptable source that can meet the requirements. This project is a continuation of previously phased projects to stabilize the shoreline along MacDill AFB, Florida, through the construction of oyster reefs which form a shallow wave-energy barrier. A demonstration project (Phase I), completed in 2004, was used to determine which configuration of oyster domes was most effective at reducing wave energy and stabilizing the shoreline. Special environmental funding shall be used for this project. Matching funds from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and possibly, funds from the Tampa Bay Estuary Program and the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County may also be expected for partnering with Tampa Baywatch, a local, nonprofit organization, that has performed the prior four phases of the shoreline stabilization. Interested sources that believe they can provide this service are asked to contact Ms Debra K. Parent at e-mail: Debra.Parent@macdill.af.mil. Please submit your e-mail no later than 25 January 2007, 4:30 PM EST.
