- Furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, and materials to provide for bridge abutment repairs to the Whitaker Bridge which crosses the Blackfoot River in Missoula County, located approximately 25 miles east of Missoula, Montana. Work will consist of removal and disposal of the existing timber abutment and wing walls, construction of a new reinforced concrete abutment, and related site work. The Contractor must start the bridgework on September 4, 2007, and finish the work on October 15, 2007. These mandatory dates are required to minimize seasonal use conflicts and to insure construction can be completed prior to winter weather concerns. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. A 100 percent payment protection will be required for contracts greater than $30,000. Payment protection can be submitted by an Irrevocable Letter of Credit, Certificate of Deposit, or Payment Bond. Payment protection shall be submitted within 10 days after notice of award. Contractor must also submit the required submittals identified in the contract specifications within 30 days after award. Authority to proceed with work will not be given until all documentation is received, reviewed, and approved. PROSPECTIVE CONTRACTORS --- PLEASE NOTE: In order to properly submit a quote on this requirement, Contractors must possess a copy of the manual titled, Standard Specifications for Constructions of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-03, U.S. Customary Units - U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration. The Request for Quotations to be issued during the week of January 29, 2007, will contain Supplemental Specifications to the manual. When designated in a contract, the FP-03 will become part of the contract and binding upon all parties in the contract. This announcement should not be construed in any manner to be an obligation to the Bureau of Land Management to reimburse any costs for obtaining the required manual in responding to the Request for Quotations. Prospective contractors shall have a Dun and Bradstreet (DUNS) number and must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA) to be considered for a government award. CCR registration can be obtained via the internet at http://www.ccr.gov and ORCA registration at http://orca.bpn.gov. No hard copies of the Request for Quotation will be sent out by this office. The Request for Quotation will be available for download at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Response date for quotes will be on or about February 28, 2007. A tentative site visit will be scheduled on February 13, 2007. Section L of the Federal Acquisition Clauses will cite the exact date, time, and place.
