- The Naval Air Warfare Center-Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Special Communications Requirements (SCR) Division (Code 4.5.11), St. Inigoes, MD, has a requirement for a Tactical Fiber Optic Cable Assembly. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 335921, ?Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturing ? with a size standard of 1000 employees. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price Contract on a ?Brand Name Mandatory? basis for the Fiber Systems International , Inc., product listed below under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. FIBER SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL, INC., located at 1300 Central Expressway North, Suite 100, Allen, TX 75013, is the sole manufacturer of the required equipment that meets the United States Army Special Operations Command, Joint Base Station (JBS). As required, the Fiber Systems International fiber optic cable will provide the Special Operation Forces with the ability to establish and maintain mobile fixed Command and Control Communications from any level within a theater of operation . The Tactical Fiber Optic Cable Assembly will also be equipped with the ability to rapidly transmit data seamlessly between operational forces and command headquarters. The Tactical Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies , previously fielded, will allow for Configuration Management control and interchangeability within existing on The Joint Base Station project (JBS). Award is anticipated by 31 January 2007. Contract is to be FOB Destination to Receiving Officer, NAWCAD, Building 8115, Villa Road, St. Inigoes, MD 20684-0010, and shall be Marked For (M/F) as specified. Inspection and acceptance shall be made at destination. The DPAS rating for this solicitation is N/A. The ?Brand Name Mandatory? Contract Line Item Number (LIN ) and Description for this procurement are: ** CLIN 0001 - P/N: A2-7002-ST-1F 2 channel TFOCA-II Flange Mount Receptacle ( Qty ? 44 Units Ea.). CLIN 0002 - P/N: A2-7002-ST-3F 2 channel TFOCA-II Flange Mount Receptacle (Qty-44 Units Ea.). CLIN 0003 - P/N: A2-1002-500F TFOCA-II Plug to Plug Assembly (Qty-22 Units Ea). CLIN 0004 - P/N: A2-1002-100F TFOCA-II Plug to Plug Assembly(Qty-55 Units Ea) ** THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES FOR ITEMS OTHER THAN THE BRAND NAME FIBER SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL, INC., EQUIPMENT LISTED IN THIS SYNOPSIS.** The Government will accept quotes from all responsible sources with the capability to provide the brand name product cited above and will award a Contract resulting from this RFP to the responsible vendor whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is considered to be most advantageous to the Government.
