- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Director of Ocean Engineering, Supervisor of Salvage, (SUPSALV) is looking for U.S. companies with the capabilities and facilities to provide Low Pressure Pneumatic Marine Fenders suitable for salvage and ship lightering operations via a subcontract with GPC, Inc., under the United States Navy's (USN) Emergency Ship Salvage Material (ESSM) Contract N00024-01-D-4018. These fenders are non-developmental items or COTS. The required fenders will be fifty feet (50 ft.) long and 10 feet (10 ft.) in diameter or (60 ft.) long and 14 feet (14 ft.) in diameter. The fenders should be made of abrasion-resistant, heat-vulcanized, rubber-coated fabric suitable for the marine salvage environment. The fenders shall operate at an internal operating pressure of approximately one (1) psig and when deflated be packaged for efficient shipment.
