- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is interested in reviewing products, materials, and process technologies that could be used in currency manufacturing that would allow the blind and visually impaired to easily identify the denomination of the currency. Any item submitted will be evaluated to assess: ? Compatibility with the currently used designs and manufacturing processes ? Environmental acceptability ? Wear characteristics during circulation ? Ease of currency denomination identification. Submissions should include: ? Technical descriptions with or without samples ? Availability and price for purchase of larger test quantities ? Descriptions of implementation into the manufacturing process ? Estimated cost in production quantities, if possible ? Information on the development status and ownership of the intellectual property for this feature. Please submit 2 written copies and one electronic copy of proposals. Response should be submitted by 3:30 PM EST March 9, 2007. The Bureau will not reimburse anyone for a submission for the Request For Information.
