- FOR PLANNING PURPOSES. SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region is seeking competent and qualified contractors to perform construction and installation and or modification of Airport Surface Detection Equipment Model X(ASDE-X)/Precision Runway Monitoring(PRM)Remote Units at the Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Romulus, Michigan. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, permits, and tranportation required to perform this ASDE-X project. See attachments for scope of work for this project. NAICS: 237990 RANGE: $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 Performance time is 120 days with a tentative construction start date of April 2007. Bonding will be required in the amounts of 100% Performance Bond and 50% Payment Bond. Insurance requirements at this Airport are between $1M and $5M. Note: Only contractors which can demostrate prior operating on airport experience will be considered for this project. The work experience must be at an airport of comparable size, scale, and complexity. To be considered for award of this project the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: www.ccr.gov). This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
