- Description
- This is a pre-solicitation notice for the re-acquisition of the cadet tailor shop. The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, labor, and equipment maintenance for this service. The contractor shall be responsible for all cadet uniform tailoring and repairing required by the government for USAFA cadets and exchange students. Tasks may include alterations, fitting, maintenance and repairs, making of prototypes, making of first articles, direct embroidery, making of nametags and nametapes and modification of various cadet uniforms. Additionally, the contractor shall provide other services as specified herein including, but not limited to, fitting/measuring, marking, altering, pressing, repairing, issuing and special projects concerning cadet activities. It is the government?s intent to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) in support of awarding a Firm-Fixed Price Service contract with reimbursement for repair parts for maintenance of equipment. The proposed period of performance will include a base one-year period and four (4) one year options periods. This requirement will be set aside as a competitive 8(a) acquisition. The Service Contract Act of 1965 applies to this requirement. There is also a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board, Unite Here, AFL-C10 Local No. 1110 effective 1 August 2004 to August 1, 2007. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 811490 and the small business size standard is 6.5 M. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued electronically on or about 31 January 2007 on the Federal Business Opportunitities (FBO) web page at http://www/fbo.gov. Due date for receipt of proposals will be indicated in the solicitation document when it is released. Once the solicitation is posted on FBO, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates or amendments. It should be noted that paper copies of documents will not be provided. Offerors must be registered with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) or may be not be considered for award. Registration can be accomplished at http://www.ccr.gov. As of 1 Jan 2005, the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requires the use of Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) in Federal solicitation as part of the proposal submission process. Representation and Certification are to be accomplished in the database at httpps://orca.bpn.gov/. Registration requires applicants to have a DUNS number from Dun and Bradstreet and can be obtained at www.dnb.com. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be conducted after the solicitation has been issued. Only one site visit shall be conducted.
