- 60mm Mortar Anti-Personnel/Anti-Material (MAPAM) Cartridges Description The U. S. Army ARDEC, Picatinny, NJ intends to award a contract for the manufacture, inspection and delivery of 60mm Mortar Anti-Personnel/Anti- Material (MAPAM) Cartridges. The Government intends to award a sole source contract to Swiss Ammunition Enterprise Corp, Switzerland under the authority of 10 USC 2304?? (1), as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The basic contract is contemplated to be for an approximate quantity of 7,000 cartridges, with a potential of three option year requirements included. A brief description of the 60mm MAPAM is as follows: Upon functioning, the round produces an explosive blast. Instead of standard steel or High Fragmentation steel, the MAPAM mortar ammunition consists of a ball/matrix material for the body of the warhead. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. See numbered Note 22.
