The Office of Naval Research (ONR) anticipates holding an Industry Day and issuing a BAA for this Program in 2007. Responses to this notice will be used for market research by ONR. Information from this research could be used to establish technology maturity levels in a future BAA. This is not a commitment to fund any effort submitted in response to this request. I. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Agency Name Office of Naval Research One Liberty Center 875 North Randolph Street, Suite 1425 Arlington, VA 22203-1995 2. Request for Information Title: GWOT Focused Tactical Persistent Surveillance 3. Request for Information Number: ONR-07-RFI-0005 4. Response Date: 08 February 2007 5. Request for Information Description: The Office of Naval Research is seeking information for the GWOT Focused Tactical Persistent Surveillance Program. This Program will support small teams of Expeditionary Forces in urban, rural, and river operations. The areas of interest include: (1) The development of multi-functional tactical sensors to be employed by small teams. New sensor modalities are of interest especially if there is higher information content or on-board processing of data. Low size, weight, and power are also considerations. (2) The development of optical tags that can be tracked by remote tag readers. Tags and taggants are to be developed for land and sea use, along with tag readers. (3) Development of a new communications network for tactical distributed sensors and platforms. Low bandwidth constraints are a consideration for tactical ground and river communications. Optical and UWB links should be considered but not as a limitation. 6. Point(s) of Contact: Questions of a technical nature shall be directed to the Program Officer, as specified below: Mr. Martin Kruger Office of Naval Research Code: ONR 30, Room 1160 875 N.
