The contractor shall provide to the RML a multiphoton excitation laser, which shall include installation. The following are the requirements. SCHEDULE: 1. Multiple users at RML and in the Electron Microscopy Unit, require that the multiphoton laser system provide a broad tuning range of at least, but no less than 680-1080nm. 2. RML will be using the multiphoton confocal system to study deep tissue samples, which shall require that the multiphoton laser system have an output > 3.3 W at 800nm. 3. The tuning speed of the multiphoton laser is critical. It is required that the multiphoton laser have a tuning speed equal to or greater than 25nm/sec. 4. The multiphoton laser system must have active feedback that continuously and automatically optimizes the output power and pulse width at all times. 5. The multiphoton laser system must have an integral spectrometer with USB interface to measure pulse bandwidth in real time. 6. The multiphoton laser system must have an integral single-frequency pump laser to reduce noise levels. 7. The multiphoton laser system shall be capable of delivering a round (ellipticity of 0.9 to 1.1) and non-astigmatic (astigmatism <10%) beam. 8.
