Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWC Division Newport intends to issue an order to General Dynamics/Electric Boat Division for the manufacturing of loading, handling and special support equipment for the Submersible Ship Guided Missile Nuclear (SSGN) The order shall be placed under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00024-05-G-4417 which provides for Engineering, Material and Technical Services in support of Submarines, Moored Trained Ships and Submarine Support Facilities. General Dynamics/Electric Boat Division is the design agent and the designated overhaul and planning yard contractor for all unique Ship Submersible Nuclear (SSN) classes of Submarines. As such, General Dynamics/Electric Boat Division is the only source who possesses the requisite technical and engineering expertise necessary to perform this effort. This order will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact General Dynamics/Electric Boat Division directly. See Numbered Note 22.
