Description
This solicitation will be made available for download from the FedBizOpps (check one): X yes OPEN TO FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION Text: The Alaska Fishery Science Center will be conducting the fifth biennial bottom trawl survey of the Gulf of Alaska. Two contract will be awarded to provide one trawler each to conduct the shelf portion of the 2007 Gulf of Alaska biennial bottom trawl survey. Each contract will include options for three additional years to conduct the 2008 and 2010 biennial Aleutian Islands bottom trawl surveys, and the 2009 biennial Gulf of Alaska bottom trawl survey. The ideal vessel would have a minimum overall vessel length of approximately 36.5 m (120 ft), Minimum continuous horsepower output from main engine, approximately 1000 hp. Vessel must be able to tow standard survey trawl, a 27.4/36.5 m (90/120ft) Poly Nor' Eastern trawl with rubber bobbin roller gear at a continuous speed of 5.6 km/hr (3 kts) under normally expected fishing conditions. Vessel should be able to maintain a minimum cruising speed of at least 16.8 km/hr (9 kts) in low sea states. Vessel should be completely rigged for mid-water trawling. Vessel must have capacity for approximately 50 days of continuous fishing operations. Anticipated period of performance May 18, 2007 for 75 days with and optional 5 days. Each optional year there after should begin on or about the same date in May of the option year. This is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. NAICS Code 532411 Size limit for small businesses is $6.5.
