- Responses to Questions RFQE003498 Q1.What is meant by a desktop consolette? A1. The unit is mounted in an enclosure similar to a small desktop podium for an office application. Q2.The spec calls for a consolette. Define its capabilities. A2. The consolette provides the same capabilities as the mobile unit in the transportable case. It is just mounted to suit an office environment without having a case on a desk. Q3.Does it handle both dispatch and circuit switched voice? A3. Dispatch voice through satellite only. No hard phone circuits. Q4.How far is it from the transceiver unit? A4. Transceiver is co-located inside dispatch console. Q5.What is the distance from the transceiver to the antenna and what kind of mounting configuration is required for the antenna? A5. 150? remote cable to antenna. Q6.Concerning the 9 transportable units, can they describe the type of case they require? I would envision a Pelican case with interior foam that would house the transceiver, antenna with magnetic mounts power supply and handset with external speaker. To use this unit, they would simply remove the antenna and install on the vehicle rooftop. A DC cable with cigarette lighter adapter would be supplied for this application. A6. The description for the antenna is correct as stated. The transceiver is a separate case, which is described in the advertisement. Q7.Do you require battery backup/internal battery? A7. No battery back up is required. Q8.Will installation services or additional airtime be required? A8. No. Q9.Is training required? A9. No. Q10. What is the model number? A10.Desktop Consolette: DT-MSATG2; Transmobile phone: TM-MSATG2LM; magnetic mounting kits: SPACE-AC1016.
